Music from the Misty Isles
“When all the buds are swellin’ ” the Anglo-Irish ensemble, O’Carolan Etcetera, plays toe-tapping fiddle, flute, guitar, and hurdy-gurdy tunes. Balladeer Michael O’Leary and his bodhran joins them for laments, lullabies, and love songs. A tea and scones reception will round out this “Music from the Misty Isles” afternoon performance.
The timeless melodies of Turloch O’Carolan. English dance tunes that Jane Austen would have known. Irish jigs and Scottish airs. Reels that set toes a-tapping. Laments, lullabies and love songs from across the Celtic lands. Scots-Irish music transformed into Appalachian Old Time tunes and songs.
Their music will transport you to another time and place.
